Bikini and Figure – Women’s Information

Bikini
There will be 5 placings per class in the Bikini Division, and an Overall Open class winner who will receive an Overall trophy along with a custom competition suit made by professional suit designer Cynthia James. Masters and Teen division competitors are allowed to crossover into the Open division. Novice division is open to 1st time competitors ONLY. Bikini classes are as follows:

  • Short (up to & including 5’4)
  • Medium (over 5’4 & up to & including 5’6)
  • Tall (over 5’6)
  • Masters (35 & over)
  • Novice (one class)
  • Teen (one class)

Competitor Rules

  • Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit. The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped. No thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off the rack suit. All swimsuits must be in good taste.
  • Competitors must wear high heels.
  • Competitors may wear jewelry.

Competition Judging

Presentation:
The Bikini athlete should be warned about improper suits and advised to bring two (2) suits to check in. The fronts of suit are too low and must be constructed higher. Athletes scores will be marked down if the suit is not up to standard. Athletes should be instructed at the meeting what is permitted on stage;

  • Walk to the center of the stage and do a front stance followed by a full turn
  • Do a rear stance followed by a turn to the front facing the judges
  • Proceed to the side of the stage
  • No lewd acts permitted. Length of time allowed – 10 seconds. This information should be reiterated by the expediter prior to the athlete.

Comparison Round, Two-Piece Swimsuit

  • Competitors will be judged wearing a two-piece swimsuit and heels.
  • The competitors will be brought out in a group and directed to do a full front and rear stance, 10 seconds only.
  • Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in half turns. (No side judging permitted, front and back only.)
  • Judges will be scoring competitors on ‘Balance and Shape’ and ‘Overall physical appearance including complexion, skin tone, poise and overall presentation.’

The number of bikini classes will be determined based on number of competitors.

Figure

COMPETITION JUDGING
Presentation:

 

Competitors will walk to the center of the stage alone and perform quarter (1/4) turns, face the judges as directed then proceed to the side of the stage.

Comparison Round

  • Competitors will be judged wearing a two-piece swimsuit and high heels
  • The competitors will be brought back out in a group and directed to do quarter turns
  • Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in quarter turns.

Scoring:

 

Judges will be scoring competitors using the following criteria:

  • Small degree of muscularity with separation, no visible striations
  • Overall muscle tone with shapely lines, overall firmness and not excessively lean
  • Full general assessment
  • Healthy appearance
  • Skin tone
